Developing Industry-Specific AI Teams that Can Better Assess AI Tools

• Situation: Amid increasing interest in artificial intelligence, a recurring theme emerged: organizations were not only seeking technical solutions, but also teams that weren’t generalists.  AI teams were needed for domain-specific AI business interests. Customers as well as internal stakeholders were asking complex questions about AI governance, ethical deployment, and domain-specific legal considerations, domain specific business questions that required industry expertise as well as AI to fully assess the ROI of AI tools— needs that were not fully addressed by existing AI service lines or innovation groups.

• Action:

  • First performed an assessment with client to understand clearly what type of sub-speciality team(s) were needed

  • Followed with hands-on help interviewing, building, and organizing the teams.
